Industry group Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS)

The industry group Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) has been established per 1 January 2003 and bundles within NEVAT the powers of companies that specialise in the production of electronics. Registered members realise a substantial part of their turnover with assembling and/or producing electronic products and/or semi finished products. This includes the assemblage of print plates, manufacturing of PCBs and compiling complete products in which electronics are predominantly present.

The mission of the industry group is to: "Prominently position Dutch service-providing electronics production companies in the international market”. It wants to strengthen the competitiveness of the members by developing joint activities that at the same time will strengthen the competitiveness of the Dutch electronics industry in its entirety.

Furthermore, it wants to provide an active contribution to ensure and upgrade the professional knowledge that is necessary to continuously improve the industry. The industry group is organised in such a way that it also has made technology and innovation into important spearheads in addition to news within the industry. The technology group gathers a few times per year and has its own chairman and project team. Bringing the innovative character of the members to the attention of the rest of the production industry will also provide a positive contribution to the image of the industry. The intent is also to organise a large congress once every two years, where the vision of the industry stands central.

Members characterize themselves by their pro-active attitude and are willing to provide an active contribution that is necessary to realise the objectives of the EMS Industry Group. They are continuously looking for the best solutions for their customers.

Membership in the EMS is open for NEVAT members who:

• Realise a substantial part of their turnover with the assemblage and/or production of electronic products and/or semi-finished products
• Do business at their own account and risk
• Work for multiple customers
• Components suppliers, trading firms and/or information providers cannot become member of the EMS
• Must be willing to provide an active contribution that is necessary to realise the objectives of the EMS Industry Group.
