Industry Group - Precision Machining Netherlands

Precision Machining Netherlands unites 30 member companies of NEVAT that are suppliers of heavy machining processes or produce products using heavy machining processing techniques.

The size of the product that needs to be processed plays an important role. The member companies of the industry group provide one or more of the techniques below:

• Carrousel turning > 2500 mm diameter
• Centre turning > 5000 mm turning length
• Punching > 3000 mm
• Sharpening > 3000 mm

The companies that provide the techniques listed above can be found in the database where a suitable supplier can be found by selecting one of the listed processes.

Over the past few years the companies in the heavy machining industry have invested substantially in order to be able to process large complex pieces with a high degree of precision for different sectors in the industry, including energy, petrochemical, heavy machine construction, the maritime sector (shipbuilding and ship repair) and off-shore. The member companies have year’s worth of practical experience in the processing of heavy and/or large components. They like to put their experience at service of the customers and if desired they advise about processing technical aspects of a design in order to come to an optimal solution.

The objectives of Precision Machining Netherlands are:

1. Strengthening the competitiveness if the affiliated companies nationally and internationally
2. Collective approach of individual problems focused on a joint solution
3. Promotion of affiliated companies to national and international outsourcers
4. Anticipate technological developments in the industry

These objectives are realised by:

• The organisation of member gatherings and knowledge exchange meetings
• The organisation of thematic working visits and company visits to member companies
• The organisation of trade gatherings in the Netherlands and abroad
• Collective contracts with suppliers of specific services
• Consultation with the Ministry of Economics on a regular basis
• Promotional brochure containing information about the industry and an overview of the affiliated companies (to be requested via the PMN administration).

Membership of Precision Machining Netherlands is open for NEVAT member companies that provide one or more of the above listed heavy processing techniques in the listed size(s).
